Are you developing health content that can go beyond your site? As the Internet becomes more complex, and continues to grow the idea of static health content sitting on your site will soon disappear. Just like you have to reach outside of your hospital walls to identify and attract patients, you will need to do the same when it comes to your web presence.
This is from our sister blog:
I’m thinking these plans will matter more than one’s website — in fact, our next website probably won’t be a classic site at all. It would rather be a series of blog postings, press releases, webinars we’ve given (via blip.tv), and a portfolio for visitors to sort and peruse based on their interests. Throw in a virtual demo and I’m not sure we’d need much else.
You too should start considering how you will utilize the Web to interact with patients before they come to your site. Do you have RSS feeds for your content, press releases, blogs? Are your videos syndicated on YouTube? Are you sponsoring interactive health assessments on local and regional news sites? Are you listed in directories such as healthcare.com? There is so much that can be done beyond your own site, so think beyond the confines of your domain name and reach out to your patients.
